Zenith 750 Cruzer If you looked at yesterday's log, you will see that I can't continue on the windshield because I believe it has some deformities molded into it-more poor quality Zenith parts.

So I thought I would build the flaperons to keep things moving-but you will see that once again, I'm stuck due to poor quality parts...

The first step is to remove all the labels and the ink from the parts.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Then I deburred a zillion holes.
Zenith 750 Cruzer Here's the four spars, four stiffeners, and all the ribs.
Zenith 750 Cruzer There are 8 mounting brackets that need to be fabricated. Follow your plans and directions...

Zenith 750 Cruzer Here it is complete and mounted on the spar frame. Notice that I have rounded all edges.
Zenith 750 Cruzer Now this is where I am absolutely disgusted with Zenith and their complete lack of quality control. Once again, I'm stuck at a dead end and can't continue.

Since the very start of this kit, it seems like I get 3-4 steps into a project and then I have to stop, e-mail Zenith, and then wait for them to send me new parts because they were either manufactured incorrectly, bent, broken, or the holes don't line up.

No difference here on the flaperons. All four pieces are like this-the top rib holes don't line up at all.

Zenith 750 Cruzer So now instead of using my limited time off of work to build this airplane, I have to once again wait to get new parts from Zenith.

This is getting absolutely frustrating. I know that soon Zenith will turn the four-seat 801 into a "Cruzer" and I had every intention of building one.

At this point, I think I can confidently say that I will never build another Zenith kit again-at least not until they quit having 10,000 rudder builder workshops every year and maybe step back, get their team together, and actually fix their extremely poor quality control issues.

So...another day off and there's nothing I can work do on the plane. I'm mad.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Look at this flaperon skin! It was clearly damaged and bent. Then someone at the factory decided to try to just straighten it out.

It's still warped. Why in the hell would anyone at Zenith make the decision to still include this piece in someone's kit? That makes no sense to me and reflects extremely poorly on Zenith.
