Zenith 750 Cruzer Here are my aft fuselage parts next to my original. As you can see they need trimmed and drilled.

These new pieces have a joggle in them because the vert stab spar is wider than the fuselage. See my video for more.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Here I am match drilling the holes from the old piece.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Here you can get an idea of how much needs trimmed.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Bottom needs trimmed....

Zenith 750 Cruzer ...and so does the bottom.

Zenith 750 Cruzer From this pic you can see that the aft edge needs trimmed too.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Left side is attached to fuselage and all edges have been trimmed.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Left side complete. These pieces are much nicer than the ones that came with the kit. I don't know if these are new updated parts that Zenith is including with kits now, or if they only special make them if you request them. Considering how mine were not drilled or cut to fit, I'm guessing these are custom parts and will not come with the kit. Call Zenith for clarification if you want to know.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Since I am making my vert stab removable, I am using AN526-632R4 screws (see below). I ordered 1/4" but I see now that they are a little too short. 5/16" should work. Will order longer ones.

Zenith 750 Cruzer Today I also finished up mounting this forward part of the vertical stab. I have about 40 hours into this stupid piece. This was by far the most difficult part of this entire project. I made paper and posterboard templates that fit perfectly, but when I trace the pattern onto the aluminum and place the aluminum piece on the tail, it does not lay down the same way as the paper. So I made in total 3 of these aluminum ones and this is the best of the three. It is not perfect, but I'm tired of fucking with it.

The entire bottom will have a fiberglass fairing that wraps around the vert stab base, and the top and bottom of the horix stab.

Zenith 750 Cruzer These forward supports are mounted on the outside because of how they have to be bent to fit. I've seen some Cruzers with these parts all on the outside, and others with them all on the inside. It can be done either way, but it was a lot easier in my case to put these on the outside. Again, they will be covered with the fiberglass fairing.

Zenith 750 Cruzer What boggles my mind is that I had a posterboard template that fit perfectly on the bottom. I traced and cut out that exact pattern on aluminum and this is how the leading edge looks. I can't figure it out.

Zenith 750 Cruzer I mounted the battery on the passenger side of the firewall. Currently the battery is only temporarily mounted because this aluminum battery cover will be removed and painted white. Also, the firewall is extremely flimsy here and the battery moves around a lot. So I will need to put some L angle stiffeners on the backside of the firewall behind the battery.

This is the Odyssey PC625 battery that is recommended in the manual.
