LEARN | BUILD | FLY
Dad is in town again to help rivet this wing together.
Of course I can't let him have all the fun, I want to rivet too!
This is the wire for the nav/strobes.
The wire runs the length of the aft spar.
Here the wing is upside down, but you can see the wire going through a grommet.
Clecoing the skins on...
I had to buy more clecos!
Setting the rivets in the holes.
And finally riveting the skins!
Dad's getting his share of riveting too.
Hard at work while I'm drinking a beer and eating a cheeseburger.
Man this looks good.
Bottom inboard skin
I guess another pic of the bottom.
Here is the fuel tank bay.
I don't know why I took two pics, maybe because it looks so nice!
I had to make a new bracket.
Rivets looking good. It's always exciting after doing to much prep work to actually rivet.
Here are all four flaperon brackets riveted to the wing.
Fuel tank support.
More fuel tank supports.
Access hole nutplates are dimpled and mounted with flush rivets left over from my Vans RV-7.
Using flush rivets will let the access cover sit flush with the skin.
